Managing Document Metadata

You can create and apply custom metadata values to a form. This helps organize and identify your various form documents. You can also create, change or remove existing metadata values.

Tip In addition to metadata, Studio also classifies documents using classes and projects.

To manage document metadata

  1. From the Documaker tab, click Properties.
  2. In Document Properties, click the Metadata tab.

The Available Metadata dialog opens, displaying the metadata items currently assigned to this document and their values in a table format.

  1. Complete any of the following steps:
  1. To add a metadata item that does not appear on the table:
  1. Click the ellipsis button ellipsis button.
  2. In the Available Metadata dialog, click the metadata item you want to apply to this document. If you need to create a metadata item, complete the next step.
  3. To create a metadata item, click Create button. Enter the Name for this metadata item, then click OK. For naming conventions, see The New Metadata Dialog. The metadata is added to the list in the Metadata tab.
  1. Click OK when done.
